The methods of steel cutting divided by degree of automation

According to the degree of automation, the steel cutting methods are manual cutting, semiautomatic cutting and automatic CNC cutting.

1. Manual cutting of steel:
(1) Generally, flame cutting is used. This cutting method is to hold a cutting gun and use acetylene / gas plus oxygen to cut steel.

(2) Plasma cutting is also hand-made, but it is seldom used for steel. Stainless steel and other non-ferrous metals are very common to use this cutting method.

2. Semiautomatic cutting:
It consists of the track plus the semi-automatic flame cutting machine. The semi-automatic machine is also very common now. Before the CNC cutting machine got popular, the thick steel was cut by semi-automatic flame cutting machine and profiling machine.

3. Automatic CNC cutting machine:
With the maturity and promotion of plasma technology, plasma cutting is generally used, followed by flame cutting, water jet cutting and laser cutting.
